N NorEaster Member Joined Jun 4, 2010 Jun 23, 2014 #1 Mine broke off today, and I was able to fish it out before I lost it for good. Im going to guess that running without it will ruin the steering joint near the rear cylinder. Is it a big deal not to have the heat shield on it?

scgnx2 Active Member Joined Jan 24, 2009 Jun 23, 2014 #2 I think by now, most of the stock headers still on theses cars have lost there heat shields. None of the after market headers have heat shields. If it was critical I would think they would.
