Do it yourself ported heads. Hard?

Was curious how hard it would be to port my stock heads and intake on an 87 GN while the motors apart? Good idea? Anything special to make it easy?

Or I guess a better question is: Is there any minor port work that I should do before bolting this stuff down?

I am in the middle of some work on my heads. I have found that the exhaust bowls look like they can benefit greatly from cleanup. This is where I am focusing. I am creating a smoother radius just above the valve seats on intake and exhaust. I think the biggest key when doing it yourself is to keep everything equal between cylinders. I do not have results yet, but will surely report them to the board when available. :)

Atleast have a 3 angle valve job done and have the stock intake valves back cut. This should be less than $300 and make any bowl porting you do so much easier.
