Cleaning my gas tank out preparing for E85 and white shaking the water out heard a clunk. Look at what I found. A nice quarter size of metal. Nice— image.jpg
 
That was an experimental anode, supposedly, to stop electrolysis from eating the tank coating.

How is the condition of the tank internally? An anode seems like a good idea
 
From what I can see the tank looks great. You mean that is supposed to be floating around in there?

Pretty common in cooling systems, never thought about use in a fuel system
 
Don't they put sacrificial metal bars of the bottom of caskets? So they break down before the casket itself. Something like that anyways.
