I know that most of the ppl involved in this hobby have some good ideas and have probably acted on there ideas so let's see some of the custom parts yall have made.....not necessarily what uve has a vendor of someone else make but ur own ideas and the results.....I personally got tired of breaking shifter handles but didn't like the aftermarket options so I came up w/ an idea.....ill upload a pic in the morning and see if anyone can guess what I used to make it......

My 409 car has a blower intake designed and built by me, as well as, master cylinders, brackets, battery box, dashboard, rollcage, window cranks, rear view mirror, center console, etc. I added it up one time and at my shop rate, it is over $55,000 dollars in custom machined parts on that car alone. I bet the Buick is over $5000 and I havent even started my new total custom showcar yet. I just started collecting pieces for it.

Heres mine...Astro van hydroboost bolt on bracket.....

:biggrin:Check the second link in my sig if you want an idea of "homemade" parts.

Here's my new header. I've got a "little" clean up to do on it, but I think it's BAD AZZ!! I LOVE this new welder, It lays down such a nice bead, don't ya think?? My old Miller TIG just can't weld like this new Harbor Freight wire feed welder. They were on sale last week. Glad I bought three of them for all my welding buddies. They're gonna be WOW'd when they see how good they work!!!

I hope you're saving one of those welders for me!

Donnie, when you can weld THIS good, then and ONLY then will I let you use this new machine. It's gonna be awhile for you, though. I've seen your fabrication skills and someday, you will be able to make art work such as this "Locker" rear-end I just finished for a Formula1 team. I'm not supposed to say who, though, but they're initials are RENAULT. Ooops! Did I just say that out loud? Now Ferrari is gonna be calling me. I just don't have time to be doing this stuff for just anyone.

Wow!

Those door handles are very clean. The bumper/ fillers are a work of art. Thanks for sharing.

These are from my air dam thread I started a while back. They have been painted black but i'm waiting to show finished pictures until I get the rest of the front end back on the car.

I made it out of aluminum....skipped making it out of plastic for obvious reasons:rolleyes: The black strap is the original until I can find one that's two inches wide, until then, it's holding it's own. All fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers) are stainless steel.

Much respect for the craftsman here. If i had a dollar for every "technician" I've met in the auto repair field who could hang parts, but couldn't modify or fab anything, I would be rich. Hey Bruce, try using the sidewall of an old tire for that nice looking hanger you have made.
