Cooling fan running

I did a search with no luck. I drove my GN for the first time in a few months and after I parked it the cooling fan kept running. The engine never got over 180 degrees. I just unplugged the fan until I can get a little help with the problem. Do I need a relay or is there something else to check?

Can someone tell me where it is located and what it looks like? Can one be bought at the local auto parts store?

the fan is supposed to kick on when you turn it off, however if it stays on then its a problem it should come on for 10-15 minutes if i remember correctly.

john posted a good link that explains it well
plug your fan back in
unplug the large fan delay relay on driver fender , and leave it unplugged , with 180 coolant temps you dont need it , its only supposed to run when the temps get over 224
