changing the oil on my gn I noticed coolant pooled up on back of intake..couldn't see anything leaking while it was running..have smelled coolant after a long ride b4..where to start?
The twin Coolant hard lines that go from the "Z" hose on the water pump - along the intake manifold and back to the heater control valve
Then - the heater control valve
Then either of the three "J" hoses that are back there
Then - either of the two smaller hoses that feed the throttle body hot water.
Chances are high that the larger hardline has spring a leak.
If it is stock - they are made of standard steel - and rust from the inside out.
Replace with a stainless unit from Gbodyparts
I prefer to buy the one that deletes the TB lines.
X2 on throttle body lines!
I had a piece of hose on mine looping the nipples on the hard cooling lines together and it developed a leak that you could not see, but puddled on the intake when the car was running.
