comp cams roller kit,cam button question !!

does the timing cover need machining to install this roller cam?? I will be using the cam button for the roller set up but some say i still have to machine down the area where the button will ride......

I guess that would depend on the cover. Mine was dead flat where the button
contacted the cover. I wouldn't machine it unless it needs it. It does have to be flat, though. HTH

Not necessarily- more important to set the roller button up correctly- no spring, proper clearance.
