It's plenty long enough to control the thrust of the cam, but the outer diameter of the spring is just a bit to small to hold itself into the inner diameter of the cam. What I got is the roller bearing version from TA.
I may be asking this question a bit late, but can I just bend the bottom of the spring a little so that it will hold itself in while I install the timing cover? That was what I did, but now I'm wondering if this will wobble and tear itself up. Maybe I should remove the timing cover again and put the nylon piece back in?
