Column to floorshift conversion

I was wondering how hard is it to convert my 85 hot air column shift to a floor shift set up? I would like to do this but really don’t know what parts I might need. So far I have on my list a

1. Floor **** column
2. Shifter I want to install the B&M mega shifter since this comes with a shifter cable that would mean one less thing to add to the list.
3. Mounting brackets for the shifter

Would I need a different linkage bracket at the transmission?
Has anyone else attempted to do this conversion and succeeded? I tried looking up any threads but found nothing. I am new to the forum so maybe I am not looking in the right places.

Go buy the shifter, the instructions will guide you throught the process. Everything you need will be in there. The shifter cable is far superior and the conversion takes a while but the results are rewarding. Do a search in the forums like I did to keep the linkage to move your gear selector. Some prefab required but you dont have to hard wire the safety neutral switch. Good luck. It will take a good day to do the conversion.
