I had same issues and wanted a TR6 myself but on a budget I ordered Caspers Ignition hotwire kit along with coil and module!! Seems to do ok havent had any issues YET!!!

The TR6 was part of my switch to E85 . I had no problems with my stock ignition , but the TR6 has a rev limiter , 2-step , & system diagnostics which are nice features .

I use the ignition module from Autozone Duralast part number DR143 it has a lifetime warranty which is good - but the most important thing for me is that it works good. If it doesn't work they will replace it or refund your money.

I use the BWD brand coil pack i bought it from O'Reilly auto parts and it comes with a lifetime warranty as well. It works well on my car. There are other parts stores that sell them you just have to shop around.

My 86 T-Type has many mods and is only street driven and i try to get the most for my money when it comes to choosing parts. And they have to work good or i will take them off and return them and get my money back and look elsewhere. But i haven't had any problems with these and it's been some years running on my car.

The TR6 from what i've read is a good upgrade but has more than what i need and not to mention way above my budget for my intended use of my car.

I have the Autozone module and it works good. But I can here a ever so small misfire when idling but wot has no issues.
