Does anyone see a reason we can't use this stepping it down to 3".. I guess what I am thinking is if this will mount in the place of our stock wastegate, actuator up and all, then there should be no reason why we couldn't use it just like the intercooled guys. Step it down to 3" and some soft bends in steel pipe and voila....5" hot air downpipe....

The Braggard....

cool

i know it might look cool but i dont see it being any more efficient then a standard 3" dp.

forget it

After taking some measurements, the best we will ever see is a 3 or 3 1/2. The good news is I posted to beweavy at gbody about they're new 3" DP asking what about us hot air guys? And got this responce....

We will be working on it!
Thanks,

I will when I swap turbos, but my project has come to an unespected stop due to a family mishap, but things will get better

I know they will

While I'm all for great exhaust flow on a turbo car, I think that's a bit much. Probably wouldn't hurt anything besides your wallet. There are some 9 sec cars running around with 3" DPs. As far as I know the single most important thing is you want is the exhaust to be able to come straight out of the turbo for a ways before there are any bends. Getting rid of the stock elbow comes to mind.

For what it's worth, I had a 2.5" pipe with ported stock elbow on my car with the TA66. Once I put on the LT 3" with no elbow, the turbo spooled much, much better and there was a power increase as well. I think I'm rambling now.

Thats pretty much what I had in mind...I was trying to find some option to get rid of the damn stock elbow since no-one makes a DP for us anymore.....
