Challenge: Part Identification

I found this in my oil pan. I have no idea what it is, and it is not much more then a CM wide, it is pretty small. Definately looks like it spins on something.

Anyone know what it is :confused:

Somethng like .5 inch wide, and .25 inch thick including the pertruding middle part. Somebody guessed a cam button but i heard they dont look like that.
I can take another pic beside a ruler if it helps anyone.
 
ok, the timing chain was checked and she's tight. It was changed a couple years ago from original stuff. When he did it, I guess its possible it is from the original parts perhaps, dropped when removing it or something.

That is what it loos like to me too..... need to put a nickel in the pic to help compare to for size.....

Almost looks like the oil slinger for the timing chain.... but appears he says that part is too small to be it........
 
to me

it looks like a washer/ shim from the cam pos sensor,
not knowing the dimensions,
