OK so a few months ago I purchased a TTA, and I've never been in any other car with this tranny, so I don't know exactly how it should feel. In any case, I'm working out the bugs in the car and I have a sneaking suspicion that something is awry with the tranny.

If I have it in D at 65 and jump on it, it stays in 3rd and pulls away. If I have it in OD at the same speed, it kicks down to 3rd but pulls cleaner/harder. Boost is the same.

Am I insane or would something be causing this?

In D the overun clutch is on and has decompression in third. In od , the OR clutch is not on .
That is the only difference. Could it affect? Well, sure it could but how much are we talking about?

It's enough that I can feel it. At first I thought I was nuts, so I sat there flipping between it, and OD just feels stronger and cleaner when it pulls.
