Can you get the mirror out...

The standard non-illuminated mirror is just held on with two tits pushed into the fiberboard. They come off with no problem. Besides if you break it there are plent of them in the boneyards. GM used them on everything. Now if its the illuminated mirror than those are just held on with a couple of tiny Phillips head screws. You'll have to cut the wire to fully remove it but that can be resoldered after its been recovered. Nothing to worry about on either mirror.

Like Eric said, it's not that tough. If your local shops wont do it, their in the wrong line of business.

Thanks for the input. I started looking for screws and found that on the '87 you just pop the little lenses off over the lights next to the mirror and there are 4 screws. Mirror comes out real easy. The local shop is doing the reupholstery as we speak. Carpet is next!
