Unless it's a small chip off a corner that can be deburred it needs to be replaced.

Your wording is a bit misleading, do you mean replace the entire camshaft or just the broken cam gear newhotair?

Just replace the timing chain/gear assembly.

i mean the gear on the cam that drives the cam sensor a teeth was broke on both the cam sensor gear and the gear on the cam that drives the cam sensor do to a bad oil pump that lock up i have a new cam sensor i need to know if something can be done about the cam gear

You can't repair it. If it fails it will leave you stuck and you will have a lot of work to do to fix it.
