Buyer a new car... CA vs. MA

Within the next few weeks i will be relocating from Massachusetts to Santa Barbara, California. I unfortunatly had to sell my GN, and am also looking to sell my 03 Cavalier so i can get something nice. I'm 22 and haven't done much traveling, but i'm curious if i would be better off buying the car in MA rather than in CA. The company will be paying to ship my car over to CA. I"m looking top get an 04 Mazda 6 S... msrp is about the same in both states, sales tax in MA is around 5% and CA is either 7.75 or 8.25. Anyone who is familiar with CA, i would appreciate some feedback... or any pro's and cons i guess. Thanks
