Its kinda funny how most of my American friends live in the South, and are staunch conservatives, but all are fed up with GWB, and think Iraq was/is a big waste of money, time, and obove all, life.
Is it only myself and my learned friends in the US that see's how futile and stupid the Iraq conflict is?
It has been going down hill from the fall of Bagdad<?sp>
TT/A1233, tell me what has gone RIGHT in this folly?
Gas prices?
The end of suicide attacks?
Happy Iraqi's?
GWB's popularity?
HAHAHA
Nope!

I apoligise for attacking you, but post something constructive and debateable, not a bunch of BS!
Here are a few positives:
Libya gave up it's 2 tons of Uranium it purchased from North Korea along with it's $100's of Million Dollar nuclear weapons program BECAUSE we invaded Iraq.
We found Saddam's list of Oil Credits in the UN oil for palaces scam, so we know that Kofi Annan's son among others... like two of Hanz Blix weapons inspectors were on the take from Saddam.
France and Germany's economies are in Shambles because they didn't support the invasion an US tourists are avoiding them like the plague.
I'm not sure how you can blame high oil prices on Iraq. The oil price is supply and demand (and the Iraq war didn't reduce supply). The demand is higher so the price is higher. Sure if the US was still in recession the price would be lower, but then unemployment wouldn't be only 5.7 percent.
The majority of Iraqi's are happier now than before Saddam. They will be happier to see us go, but that is the point.
There aren't Thousands protesting in the streets. If there were the media would be showing it every night and encouraging it. The bombers are mostly foreign fighters or fedayeen Saddam who were raised to be suicide bombers.
The Sarin Gas shell proved Saddam had WMD's. He may have not had stockpiles, but that one shell was a violation of the 17 UN resolutions that brought the war to Saddam. I'm confident there are others, based on the amount of Iraqi soldiers carrying gas masks as standard issue.
Bush didn't go to Iraq to increase his popularity. He went to Iraq to take the fight to the terrorists. To be on Offense rather than on defense. The strategy is a good one. If he doesn't get re-elected, he did what he and a lot of people felt was he right thing to do, given the intelligence at the time.
Getting rid of Saddam was the right thing to do. There can't be any debate about that, can there?
Every one of those suicide bombers in Iraq would gladly be a suicide bomber in the US if they had the means. Saddam was one of the people in the Middle East willing to give that bomber the means, either directly through family payoffs or indirectly by allowing answar al Islam to operate. We can check him off the list.
