Brake pedal at the floor (literally)

When I bought my car, the fuel pump was bad, so I couldn't really drive it onto the trailer. The wheels were locked up, the previous owner thought it was from sitting. Without thinking about the hydro-boost braking system, we cracked the bleeders on all four wheels and put it on the trailer using the parking brake.

Now that I have got it running, the brake pedal is literally on the floor. It moves about 1/2", but there's obviously no "real pedal". I have a diesel truck and although I understand the hydro-boost units used on diesels due to lack of vacuum, I am very unfamiliar with the GM version on the turbo Buicks. I have read several threads, and it sounds like these units are very tempermental regardless of age and/or mileage.

Can anybody give me a little help in "starting from scratch" on the braking system?

Respectfully,

R. J.
