Boosting higher after replacing intake gasket

I had to back off my rod 2 1/2 turns to get back down to 18/19 psi. No other changes just the intake gasket (was leaking oil) Why? Maybe I fixed a few vaccum leaks? Anyone who might have input post in please. Eric

Uh yeah if you fixed any leaks you have sealed everything up properly...then your boost would be higher than before...it's nice to have full boost and power isn't it! I would know because one time I had a leaking head gasket and increased my boost from 25-30 psi and the car didn't go any faster at the track...go figure...it was leaking out through the headgasket.

Ok now Ive got the rod turned out to where I can almost put it on by hand and I got the boost down below 20 but it seems to spool slower? Maybe something else is wrong?
