The car is an '84 Regal, w/ 60,000 miles on the current engine...It's starting to buck and brawl off the line, but seems to run good at normal speed. I parked the car last night at the house, and what I can only describe as steam was coming from the exhaust. I talked to Dad, and he said for sure...a blown headgasket.

My question is "how do I know which one?" Is there a way to tell which side it is, and also does this sound like a likely cause for what I explained?!?

Thanks, John

The compression test will tell you which side, but I would replace both anyway. You have to remove the intake and it's not that much more work to remove the other head.
