BLM Lock or not?

Currently I'm using Red's 93 chip for my 009's on the street. I'd like to get something a little more aggresive for the track. With the SMC alcy kit I'm able to run 20lbs of boost on 93 octane pump gas using Red's 93 chip.

I've contacted Jim Testa about burning me a new "spicy" chip....I'll probably go with "100 octane" so I can still use it on the street with my alcy set-up.

Are there any disadvantages to running a chip with WOT BLM lock at 128?
I'd like to avoid the "BLM shuffle" when I'm tuning fuel pressure at the track.

The first chip I had in the car was a Thrasher which locks the BLM at WOT...it ran pretty good with it in...much better than the stock chip it replaced. I just got tired of the whole Thrasher security start-up feature, plus I went w/ 009 injectors and needed a new chip.

So that is the question....to lock or not to lock.

Thanks,
John

You can't really go wrong by locking the BLM. You can lock it at 128 or basically any number depending on what you're trying to accomplish.

Jay, what are the advantages to a number higher or lower than 128? I like the idea of a locked BLM @ WOT, just curious of the advantages or disadvantages on either side of 128. Thanks!

Basically just varying the fuel curve you get at WOT
