BFG g-force drag radials

Interested too, cant find MT ET Street radials anywhere anymore...heard they lost their core supplier on them.

Have you also run the MTs? Just curious on the lowest 60' with em and leaving at how much boost?

i have a set of 235 x 8 x 15 and love them, able to hold 8 psi with no problem
with stock suspension, brakes. my gn is also able to run a 13.63 1/4 mile just with bfg drag radials car is 100% stock.60 foot mark time was 1.8 once again
only mods are tires good sticky tires much better than the nitto i had used
on my other gn i owned back in the day . with my stock tires i ran a 14.18 et

BFG Drag Radials

I've had BFG's on both of my Mustangs (Nitrous and Blower Cars), they work really well. I'm a little puzzled that I haven't seen them on the GN's posted on site. I'm going to be putting new wheel and tire comb. on my GN and I'm going to try the 275/60's or 325/50's. I'll post some pics once I have them mounted up...John

Tires I have used and best 60' with each:

BFG DR, 275/60-15, 1.777
Nitto DR, 275/60-15, 1.761
MT ET Street, 26x10.5x15, 1.639
Hoosier QTP, 27x10.5x15, 1.593
MT Sportsman Pro, 26x10.5x15, 1.592
MT ET Street DR, 255/60-15, 1.506

Launch boost was usually between 4#-7#.

mrgriftmore,i have had several different sized bfg drag radials, they are very good tires,1.58 60ft's on a 1lb launch,5000+ miles.

Thanks for all replys, as stated earlier the mickeys are on national back order and the guy at summitt said he had no idea when they would see anymore...

I am interested in how you get such a good 60' with the BFG. I may give them a try again since MT is on backorder. What size tire? Now much air pressure? What is your power level? Thanks for any advice on using the BFG.

look quick,11 lbs of air,411 gears,3200 protorque dynotech trans,49 turbo,razor's alky,kb fm,009's,mild port heads and intake,bags,metco lowers,325-50-15 on an 8 inch rim=10.5 inch contact patch.11.41-11.50@118.60-119.48mph full weight.

That tire has a 13.0" section width. How do you fit that under the car? Isn't an 8" wheel too narrow with a 10.5" tread width? Do the tires spin on the rim with only 11# of air? Sorry for all the questions.

look quick,i have some friends with high horsepower cars that also can't get mt,they are going with the hoosier drag radial based on another friends success with them.with your et and mph the 275-60-15 may spin with your combo, they did on mine when i went to the 411's,with the 342's they worked well in the 1.6 60ft range.i needed more contact patch with the 411's.the hoosiers are softer and the contact patch #'s are closer to the mt's,the bfg's are smaller.

I run BFG's on my GN, 275/50/15's. Car hooks and books, Didnt last too long though, However I did do quite a few burnouts on them.....I Plan on purchasing another set come spring...They get my vote:smile:

Thanks Mr. Spool. I will look into the Hoosier DR.

BMF--What kind of 60' do you get with the BFG and what power level?

look quick,no problems on the questions, the tire on an 8 inch rim only measures 12.0 belly to belly with a 10.5 contact patch,on a 10inch rim you can get the full 13.0.i don't have a frame notch so i run the 8 inch.tires don't and never have spun on the rim,and i think they look cool on the 8 inch with the 3.5 inch backspacing.i'm assuming you are going to run the 275-60-15?on your car i would go with the larger contact patch of the hoosier and tuck that tire under the fender.

I looked at the Hoosier's (275/60-15) on Jeg's website and they are $182 each. On an 8" rim they have an 11.5" section width and a 10" tread. The section width may be too wide since I have a 3.75" back space on my 8" wheel. What kind of 60' did your friend's get with the Hoosiers?

I found 275/60-15 M&H DR that is $182 with 10.6" sw and 8.6" tw that may fit better on my car.
