I need to replace my rear seal and was wondering who makes the best oil pan gasket, also, is it specific to the GN or is it the same for all 231 V-6's.

Got my seal from Poston, neoprene type, I assume it is as good as any of that type.

They all work! Never had a problem out of any of them if you do not overtorque and use a criss-cross pattern when doing it. You will be fine!

when you install the pan gasket. It will make it much easier if you use a thin bead of RTV to secure the gasket to the pan before insulation, let it set up for a few hours, then install.

In my experience the Duttweiler cork pan gasket works best. It is expensive but never leaks. Use a criss cross pattern like INTERCOOLER said. I found the blue neoprene Felpro gaskets will eventually leak even if installed correctly so I don't use them.

Thanks for the suggestions, is there any difference in ordering i.e. GN vs. Regal?

No, only the years matter. 86-87 use a 20 bolt pan and 84-85 use a 14 bolt pan
