I have a Garret BB 3076 that I bought used..It doesn't spin long at all after turning engine off, not like my larger, Garret 3582r that will spin for a good minute...Is there a safe solovent I can let run through it that might remove any coking or buildup that might be slowing it down ? I have read that transmission fluid should be safe..Any thoughts ?

Unless there's a spooling problem I wouldnt do anything. Those bearings see very high rpm and look very clean when the cartridges are open. There are replacement bearing housings available for those

I appreciate your replay Bison..I believe there is a spooling problem though... Is there anything safe I can use? Are there rubber parts in there ?

The only item in there that would be close to rubber is the back plate to bearing housing seal. If its binding at all it needs to be replaced. Flushing it wont help. There is probably some issue with the ex side piston ring or the bore the ring seals on in the bearing housing
