Hi,

We are trying to diagnose a problem with some major ignition retardation. We suspect it to be the mod or the calibration chip. Does anyone have a spare set that I can use or purchase?

Thanks,

B J

Thanks for the response HT. The mechanic at Auto World wants to try a stock chip and a different cal pak to see if the ignition retardation disappears.

I can't remember what the symptom was but if I remember it starts knocking off idle. It runs okay in limp home mode.

Hey Wes,

How's it going? I haven't been to this site for awhile, so I just noticed your post. You might want to swap calpak's to determine if that is the problem (maybe Paul might lend his for troubleshooting purposes....just a thought Paul;) :D ), but I wouldn't recommend using a stock chip for those injectors.

The stock injectors are 28#'s, whereas yours are 36#'s. Did the mechanic check to see if the knock sensor is functioning properly, or if it's torqued down to the proper specs? It's just an idea, since I'm sure that it's possible for the knock sensor to come slightly lose, causing KR.

HTH,
Keith

That's cool Paul!:) Wes, you might want to contact Paul, and troubleshoot with a known good calpack. If that corrects the problem, you can close the deal with him. Good luck!

Paul, so how's the conversion going? Are you custom fabricating your own headers? I hope it's coming along good so far.:)
