OK, my alternator crapped today, I was wondering if you can rebuild them make more amps or something to help the electrical supply in the car. If you can what will be done and how much will it cost? Thanks in advanced

Hey, great question!

The factory units are 120 amps...pretty potent from factory.

Used to have an Accel alternator with a toggle cut-off for bracket racing in the 70's---wonder if that's still being done?

Also, it'll be interesting to learn what pulley and cooling fan others are using on their alternator set-up.

Again, great question...lots to learn on this one! :)

My local auto parts sold me a 140 amp Chevy (LT1 ?) with lifetime warranty. It fit like the original TR.
Higher amperage are available, however they're $$$$.

Mr. Alternator has 200amp alternators, I got one to support my stereo. I believe Mralternator.com but not sure.
