alternator pulley question

So I had my local alternator repair shop go over my alternator and put a chrome housing on it.The chrome kit included the fan, pulley and nut, the new chrome pulley is 3/8" smaller than the stock one was.So obviously it will spin faster,my question is will this hurt anything to run the smaller pulley?

It may need a new belt sized to avoid squeaks or other tensioner issues.

Also with chrome case you may have to add a ground right to the rear part of the case. I just had this happen to me, chrome was actually acting as insulator and causing alot of craziness.
