All Dash Lights go OFF when Headlights are turned on

Any ideas on this guys? The tach and radio light up like normal until you turn on head lights and then they go off. Also, no illumination as in cluster, radio or dash light on passenger side come on. Turn head lights off and tach and radio lights come back on.

turn the deash light knob (next to headlight switch) higher. Sounds like it's turned all the way down.

The light switch itself may be bad ...or a bad ground.....my first guess would be the switch.

I had something similar with a 1988 Oldsmobile. When I turned on the headlights my dash lights dimmed and my fuel gage went to empty. It turned out to be a broken trace in the instrument panel flexible circuit board. Just a thought.
