Hello. My 1985 regal Limited recently had a bout with some hooligans, and well, long story short the beautifully working power antenna is no more. I have since gotten an aftermarket one; a universal Metra Electronics assembly. I have it mounted in the fender, I just don't know how to wire it, what wire goes to what etc. Can any of you help? The instructions are very unclear for a first timer. Thanks.

This print is what I used to test my 87 GN, maybe it might work for you.
You didn't explain how bad was your electric antenna, but this member has a good idea that might help you with your electric antenna.

The old power antenna mast was snapped off. The cord was still attached, it would still go up and down, but it was broken off at the very base. And from what I remember it is a a hassle to cut the old assembly apart to replace the mast and cord, so I just sprung for a new one.

And I don't want to mess with the original. If you know what the red and blue wires are, that'd be helpful. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d....oap?ck=Search_N0201_-1_-1&pt=N0201&ppt=C2467

If you Google antenna wiring schematic for 1987 Buick Regal you should find what you need.

I was thinking I could splice the wires into the existing plug, since the wires are still there. And both use 3 wires.

On the bottom right of the PDF print I sent you shows the 86-87 GN antenna wiring configuration.
What you need to do is to see if the aftermarket antenna wiring configuration is the same as the 86-87 GN Antenna PDF 3 wire configuration.
