Dont forget the Marvel Mystery Oil as well. ATF works welll but a bottle of MM Oil is just like the name implies, it does Mysterious things & actually helps sticky lifters.

LOL NOt quite Joe. Smell it sometime. It has different detergents as well as lube componants and has been around for close to a century. Long before ATF made the scene.

ATF isn't the same as it was in the 50's and 60's either. I think the real mystery is how they can keep it a mystery. I’d make the stuff sound good too if I made my living off the sale of it.

Friday morning I'll be changing the oil and seeing what's up!! It will be a relief if the motor quieted down!!

Good news!!! A few lifters were sticking. I changed the oil and filter put in 10W-30 Mobile one and it started to get quiet down. Took the handle of a hammer pushed on the couple sticking lifters and no more noise!!!!
