i have a chance to get parts from a 87 n/a motor, what should i get such as heads and for what prices. they gave up on the timing chain. tia. darrell

8445 casting heads you can buy at U-Pull-It for $20 or less. I can buy a complete NA motor with the 109 casting number for $99.00 with the cylinder heads. Maybe you can convince these guys to pay you for taking it off their hands. Eric Fisher

If it's a whole motor, get it as cheap as you can. I've sold a few 109 complete motors for $350, and that's a good price. You never know when you need an extra block. 109 blocks are getting fewer and fewer in the boneyards. I've only seen a couple in the past year and I look at a couple hundred newly junked GM cars every week. 109s are only in 86-87 G-body V-6s. Many 86 and 87 Gs I see have V-8s in them. I see many more 81 thru 85s, but they're no good. :(
