6x9 speaker mounting

I have a set of polk 6x9s and i got a set of the 4x10-6x9 brackets from ebay but the trunk rod is making a bit of contact with the magnet. I wanted to know if this is ok or if there is a way to make a little more room somehow or if Id need to buy a different set of speakers, I was hoping to use these as i already had them on the shelf. Any advice is welcome the mounting depth for these is listed as Top Mount 3-1/8" (7.94cm) Bottom Mount 3-5/8" (9.21cm)

Not sure there's much you can do...I too have a pair of Polk 6X9's mounted with the adapters and they touch the rods or are real close but no issues here.

ok thanks for the input just wanted to make sure it wasnt going to screw anything up but about 30 seconds after i plugged them in and tested them one blew so ill be looking for another set anyway

same here, mine are on the rods and have been for about a month now, no problems at all.
