1st turbo I upgraded to, great street turbo

Need what converter to run?
A 2800 10" would be ok. A 16 or 17 blade 9.5" PTC would be able to run a number. This turbo is real happy with boost in the 20-25psi range at 4600-5400rpm on a 3.8 flowing 55lbs/min. This means good heads and intercooler. When I first put this wheel combo on my car back in 1999 i promptly ran out of injector. All I had was 42's @ 100+% dc and a single home made Alky kit I had been running since the mid 90's. The car trapped 120+ out of fuel. A few weeks later I added a second alky pump and injector and was able to run 124mph before I was out of fuel again. Decent ported iron heads and one of the first precision front mounts and it ran real good and butt hurt many cars. Keep in mind this was still back when most people thought more than 22psi would blow it up. Most street turbo Regals were running low 12's with bolt ons and high 11's occasionally. Guys with aftermarket heads were running low 11's and dipping into the the 10's with stock ecm's and typically ran out of fuel at that point with only larger low Z injectors available at the time which required different drivers or an aftermarket ecu. Plenty of potential with a turbo like this. Most guys want to brag about how "new tech" or big or billet their turbo is but the cast 60-1 has been for many years and pretty much still is the king of performance compressor wheels. Copied many times over and often overshadowed by newer stuff but still packs more punch and value than anything does for a 50-60lb/min requirement. Perfect for a 10.70-10.80 turbo regal if the converter can couple it. Scott Atkinson had mentioned to me that he went 10.20 with this turbo years ago. That is faster than anything posted in these forums that anyone has run with a 62 other than the passes I made at Cecil with one.
