4l80 vs 2004R converter

The short answer is no. The longer answer is that the internal stackout of the 4L80E converter is completely different. The hub is a different length and diameter. The splines are different as well. We sell 10" 4L80E converters. Feel free to contact me if you're interested.
Thanks.

So much changes ,your

better off just buying one as opposed to trying to make yours work.

Here are the reasons why:

Converter height {measured with hub down on the bench to the bolt pads}:
4l80 = 6.870 - 6.920
2004-r = 5.855 - 5.905
The cover will need to change or the pilot and bolt holes lengthened

Pump hub diam:
4l80 = 1.998 - 2.0
200-4r = 1.746 - 1.749
Hub in the pump side of the converter will need to change

Turbine hub will need to be changed as well.
4l80 = 35 spline
2004-r = 27 spline

The rest of the converter is typical 9.5'' stuff.

Thanks guys! The only reason I ask is because I have about 120 miles on my vig and I'm not about to toss it away or sell it at a huge loss. With the current dollar situation I've been thinking more and more about picking up a duramax truck in the US and less about changing out my already new parts.

Lonnie, from the limited miles I have on that tranny from you, it seems to be pretty damn good! We put it in my buddy's T-type as my car has a braking issue I need to fix and he snapped his tranny He can't even turn the vig at idle it is so tight, lol. I guess the big block olds has a bit more low end at idle;)
