I had a non-lockup 2004r w/9" converter that I build and ran behind a nitroused 455 with good success. I built it again with several roller upgrades and also put a David Husik pump in it. Now it is in a different car and I have a few problems.....
Line pressure from the pump is 110 at idle and 300 with the rpms up and the cable pull to WOT. How much pressure can you run before running into problems? It shifts good and firm at part throttle and seems to soften up at WOT on the 1-2 shift??? Also it won't drop to 1st unless you do it manually. Is this from the line pressure or what? I run blocked accumulators since I run a non-lockup and a loose 9". The trans was out of a 87 SS and has a GN TV and 2-3 valve in the CZ1 valve body.
