3.8 Main Cap Bore Size Need Help

[JOHNZAZA]

I WAS CHECKN THE MAIN BORE SIZES, AND SOMETHING DOESN'T
MAKE SENSE.
IN THE MAGAZINE ARTICLES AND TURBO REGAL WEB SITE
THE SIZE READS 2.600. MINE ARE 2.680.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND.
I ALSO MEASURED MY BEARINGS NEW AND OLD THEY ARE
ALSO 2.680.
ANY ENGINE BUILDER'S OUT THERE CAN LET ME KNOW WHICH IS RIGHT?

The spec I get from "How To Hotrod your Buick",engine block section[bottom page 50],is 2.687/2.688.
That's what they list for the crankshaft main bearing bore.
Cam bore is listed as 1.9155/1.9175.
Center to center between the two is listed as 4.335.
Hope that helps a bit.
If anyone knows differently,feel free to correct these numbers.

that sound right, i wonder why in the tourbo regal site
the say it's 2.600. I think they need to correct the number's.

i have the steven dove guide to buick engine book and on page 198 it's explaning the stage one block. it says right at the top- main bearing saddle bore i.d. spec = 2.687-2.688

My copy of it confirms Rad. Kids findings also!!

it's just weird why the write up in gm high tech say's 2.600

and also the turbo regal site say's 2.600

I could understand why you wouldn't want to make a mistake here.

It doesn't ... that's why I was asking where on the GN/TType you were seeing 2.600"?

I want to correct the information, since it is wrong ...
