Yes you do have to notch the frame about 1 inch. Make sure that area is tied in good with your cage.

Craig is right, you will have to notch your frame rails. I have 28X10.5 ET Drags on 15X10 pro stars with 5.5" B.S. The rails are notched (about 1" on eah side. I also have the Willwood rear disk brakes, and c-clip eliminators, so I think my hubs are about 1/4" further out than the stock set up with aluminum drums I used to have... But fit either way.
