Is the 200-C transmission the same length as the 200-4R? I am planning to swap a 200-4R into an 85 Regal that now has the 200-C and want to anticipate the need to swap or shorten the driveshaft.
Thanks in advance,
tp

I believe the overall length is the same, but the mounting point is further back on a 2004r. You will need a 2004r crossmember.

Hope this helps.

Yes

Yes they are the same lenght, the mounting points are different, you need a crossmember from a G-Body that had a 200r-4 and thats it. The driveshafts are the same lenght as well.

So what you going to do with the old 200c??

200-4R vs 200-C

I bought a G-force crossmember and plan to install a Rover/Buick aluminum V8 in the car eventually, unless my attention deficit kicks in (again.) I have the V8 parts except for a flexplate & an engine to trans adapter. What happens to the NA 3.8 and the 200-C? I have a few too many engines and transmissions in the garage now, so those will have to go somewhere else...wherever that is. The 200-4R is undergoing a minor rebuild right now.
Thanks for the info and interest.
