Ok gentlemen, recently my truck developed alot of blowby and when it was cold it had a dead cylinder. I pulled the engine and tore it down. The #1 and #6 compression rings were broken. The cylinders were not wore out, hell they still have hash marks in them. The truck has 212000 miles on it and is in excellent shape. Its a 2007 3500 Dually dodge. 4x4 six speed. Im going to have the injectors cleaned and checked, but I am at a loss what would cause the broken rings. Generally its because of excessive wear but believe me, this looks great. Im going to have it bored regardless because of the scoring from the broken rings. I don't want it to happen again, any Ideas from the local gear heads as to why it happened? Its a stock engine, except for a cold air intake and exhaust.
