What does "9.98 @115mph in the 1000ft" equal to in the Quarter? Is a 1000' track an 8th mile track? Never heard of one.

That's longer then a an 1/8 mile...An 1/8 mile is 660 feet I "think".

A 1/4 is 1320 feet I "think".

1000 feet is the marker between the 1/8 and 1/4.

Maybe someone will come along and conferm.

I've heard some of the older racers talk about running on 1000' tracks. I didn't know there were any still around.

Anyway, one of my time slips from Bowling Green shows a 9.87 at 1000' on an 11.86@113mph quarter mile.

One car might run the quarter at 12.00@110mph where another car might run 12.00@130mph. It depends on the cars displacement, hp, torque, gearing, weight, traction, etc.

There are calculators that I've seen to calculate 1/8th to 1/4 and hp and torque based on mph and et but haven't seen anything that uses 1000' as a mark to calculate from.

I have some timeslips running 9.9's in the 1000' and all are 11.9 or slower.

10.0 in the 1000' appears to be about 12.0 in the 1/4

I'd guess a 9.98@115 would equal a 11.95@117 mph.

hmm, lookin at my timeslips i ran 10.045 no mph given, and my timeslip was 12.041 at 112 , so like UNGN said 10.00s should be around 12.00s
