Another question from a Stage 2 newbie.

Somebody ran a dry sump oil line through there at one time. I've seen a few that way.

    Crane Rocker Needed ASAP

Chris, You already know I don't have any but if you had to you could always use a T&D rocker since they are the same shaft diameter etc. Once you put the valve cover on nobody except you would know.

    Lifter ? with Pics

Yes, they are Isky. That is all I run in my circle track motors. Turn them 8500 and have never had a lifter problem and I don't run a rev kit.

    #25500029 intakes

Nope, They can be either way, short or tall plenum. They were cast with enough meat around the port to fit either way. Be sure and put it on a block.

    Turn around time(Pistons)

Turn around time Venolia gets my vote. Quick turn around and beats everybody pricewise with a piston that is a nice as a JE. Actually set side by side with a JE you can't tell the difference. Give em a call and check the website. 562 531 8463

    Carburetor Sizing

OK I'm late getting to this but here is my two cents worth. I run a carbed odd fire motor on 1/3 to 1/2 mile dirt tracks. Our competition is a field of big dollar small block chevy and fords with a 360 cube limit. We are limited to a 500 cfm Holley two barrel carb. My motor will pull out of...

Hi Sarge Hi Sarge, I'm still in the same place, same phone etc. Was looking through some notes and came across your cell number a few nights ago and was thinking about giving you a call as its probably been a year or so since weve chatted. Call me 814 435 2939 or e mail me lbtsails1@verizon...

Why is the panrail milled? (pic)

My guess too Mike. Windage was a big thing and with a dry sump you want the oil in the pan as quick as possible so the scavenge pickups can get it out and back to the tank. You don't want it building up on the top of the pan rail.

    Anyone heard from Ron Tarabori???

    Lubrication of the rockers

oiling Mike is right. Check very closely to see if there may be a very tiny hole drilled in the lifter bore. But, from the sound of your description you have multi shaft Jessel rockers. If so you will need to drill the lifter bores as you will need to pressure oil them through the pushrods...

Keith, If these are the parts we talked about yesterday be sure and mention that the intake would be an offset intake and the distributor would be an odd fire . Ron

    Found a fresh Wegner engine

If you can use it in a n/a application 3500 would be a fair price. Odd fire cranks are 4 to 500 and rods are a couple hundred a set. Thats why I switched to odd fire engines. If he says no, walk away. It will probably still be there next year. I have a list of motors that guys wanted 10...

    Found a fresh Wegner engine

IF its a Wegner that hasn't been in anybody else's shop this is probably what you will find. 4.020 bore 3.590 crank. Carillo 6.5 rods with 2.100 journals and Wiseco flat top pistons. The compression will be about 13.5 to one with heads around 34 cc and T & D rockers. It probably has the deep...

    machining block and questions

If your block is at 4.007 now I wouldn't go more than 4.015. That should be plenty to straighten the cylinders and you will save a lot of block for future rebuilds. As far as bearings for the rods you can use FM 7120 or Clevite 1398H. Mains FM 107 or Clevite 960H. Cam bearings are Clevite...

I need info on one of my 153 blocks

The blocks Neal are refering to have a casting number that begins with 4X. The number is located vertically on the number 1 cylinder instead of in the rear like the others. It has splayed center mains and a cross bolt front main but no cross bolt rear main. I've had several of them. I...

    welding engine block...

The bowtie chevy V6 is a good engine. When I was in with the ASA guys a few years ago they were readily available. A little harder to come by now but they are still out there. The 18 degree head is pretty common and the 23 degree a little harder to find. The splayed valve head is the way to...
