    stolen GN

About 4 years ago I had my 49,000 mile GN stolen. It was recovered 4 weeks later and I was trashed. I had the car appraised about a year prior and with all that I had done to the car along with the paint job that you could swim in,(show car) the car appraised for $20,500.00. My insurance company...

    Wheels and Tires Idea, Help

Reggie, I beleive you will need approx. a 2in. adapter to make them fit. I tried a set of Z28 wheels and it took a 1.75in adapter to get the right clearance. May I suggest that if you go with that big of a adapter, you might want to go with longer wheel studs just to be safe. Good Luck, Dave

    charcoal vapor canister

I removed mine and got no error codes. When you disconnect the hose that goes to the canister from the fuel tank, do not cut the hose. Put a small filter on the end of it and feed it down beside the frame rail. You can use a wire tie so that it does not move. I have not had a problem with fuel...

I know how to fix cam thrust surface on block

looking for more info on the roller cam bearings. Where can I find it? This seems like a pretty smart thing to do, like you said, no more wear to the surfaces. Where can the proper bearings for our blocks be purchased? Thanks

    Guys using Total-Seals

I am in the middle of rebuilding and plan on using gapless rings. So, what type of seals are they recommending for the exhaust and intake? I don't want to go back in if I can help it. Thanks

Argh, now I have a miss.. I have 3 coil packs + modules so I know it's not that

Make sure your plug wires are not against the wiring harness loom on the passenger side, check the ground wires on the back of the pass. side head, check voltage. If you have a signifigant drop in voltage it will cause the cars to act real stupid and it is like chasing a ghost. If a plug wires...

    0.63 housing vs 0.82 on a te44

I changed to a .82 housing on a 63-1 last year and noted a big difference in lag when footbraking. However, when you use a transbrake, the lag is not a factor. The .82 flows much better. I agree with strike eagle. The 44 will take you well into the low 11's if you have everything else to support...

Kirban's RJC Airflow Distribution Power Plate? Worth the $$$

Steve, You may be right and maybe I missed the point. I guess I am pissed and need to vent alittle frustration about this matter. I can also understand how Spooling Around feels. I don't expect a vendor to drop what he is doing and stand and talk to me for hours. However, I would expect him to...

Kirban's RJC Airflow Distribution Power Plate? Worth the $$$

The only bull@#$% is the way a vendor treats his customers. You don't see people like Jack Cotton and L. Conley,Red Armstrong and the list goes on and on treat people that way. I watch Jack Cotton work a guys GN at the Nationals as much as he worked on his own and to lend advise where ever he...

    engine ticking

I had the same problem last year. After checking all the usual, I found several wiped lobes on the camshaft. If you got 160,XXX on the stock block and you just install new springs and then the ticking started.. that could be one answer out of several. Check your rocker arms, pushrods, etc. I went...

Kirban's RJC Airflow Distribution Power Plate? Worth the $$$

Hey spoolin around, I'm with you. I attempted to speak with Dennis at Bowling Green this year and got the same response as you. Dennis happen to walk up to the vendor that I was purchasing new interior from. I asked Dennis a question about a product that he carried and one that I am in the...

knock from engine...a mystery so far!!

Have you checked the clearance between the downpipe and the bottom of the ac/heater box. I have seen this rattle and when you put the car up on a rack it unloads the suspension enough to clear and just the opposite when you drive the car up on ramps, it loads the suspension enough to clear. Also...

    Camshaft ?

That is the type of input that I was looking for. The reason I was looking at the solid lift is: I know they are not the same but I liked the constant lift across the board that the solid lift gives and normally with my old combo i shifted at 6100. The previous camshaft was a 224/224 and using a...

    Camshaft ?

Doing a complete rebuild from the ground up. Looking for a completely new combo(see old signature). I am thinking of going with a solid lift roller cam. Not quite sure of the size yet but it will be backed up with a girdled stock .30 block 70mm tb and a 72 turbo good heads and so forth. Some...

    Injector question

Well, What I'm wanting to do is, go middle to high nines on a stage 2. And you are right about going bigger and cutting them back. It's better to be safe than sorry and not have to buy injectors twice. Thanks, David
