    Deleting the oil cooler.

After the Biggie adapter bolt, this was going to be the next filter upgrade. I found a water cooled flow through cooler by Dana that was being sold through MOPAR. It fit like a charm and basically brought the Regal oil cooler up to the TTA style. Just as I was getting adapter bolts made, DANA...

    What the hell?

You only get one chance with that sticker. I would clean around the edges and then heat from the back side and peal it off. After its off you can deal with the rest of the mess. Not likely anything will remove the glue from the sticker and leave the ink of the options.

3D Printing and my Grand National

Glad to see someone bringing 3D printing to our cars. This just opens up so many opportunities. There are different types and brands but the industrial printers can make some tough durable parts. The aerospace industry uses them a lot, every type of manufacturing and racing. You honestly have...

    G body drop spindles

I believe what you are asking about is the cage holding the bearings. The purpose of the cage is to simply keep the rollers located and spaced. It bears no weight. Most are steel, but I have seen many in plastic. I haven't noticed where it makes much difference. David

OK, what is the right news on this wheel? There is one guy offering the wheels in 15-7 or 8 and either 5 on 4.5 or 5 on 4.75. Available on ebay "Buy it now." The site here won't carry the link so just do a search on Vector wheels Or just go to Summit and order: American Racing...

Need a cam without the groove...

Give Lonnie a call. He knows a lot more than just transmissions. In one of our discussions he told me about spray welding the groove and having the front cam journal turned to smooth the surface.

    Intercooler scoop ?

The least expensive, easiest to find scoop extension is a Rubber Maid office trash can from Office Depot/Mas. Color and material are a close match to the stock air dams and the rolled upper edge makes it look like it belongs there. Its about $5 plus a few fasteners to mount. Some vendors were...

Classic Tube (How long to wait)

I don't take those bolts all the way out. If you loosen them, you can then take out the rear pins mounting the straps behind the bumper. The rear pins just slide in and it makes removal and installs easy. On your back in the driveway, of course. With the bolts still in place, and the...

    E85

You are quite welcome to be the voice of doom or reason, as you may see it. But the Silver6 seems to do quite well on about a 50/50 blend of 91 and E85. I do notice a difference in the smell of the exhaust. Info from the Iowa state site: http://www.agriculture.state.ia.us/e85facts.html...

differences in 79 turbo block and 109?

GM changed the Buick V6 block in some way almost yearly from 78-86. The easiest thing for you to do is look at the photos and information on the Turbo Regal site. This is the link to the pics for the 79 block: http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/pictureguides/blocks/79block.html The entire...

    Where do cranks break?

There you have it George. It was my intent at the start of this thread to have people list the location of the crank breakage we have seen. It will help us look possible reasons for the break. The posting of a machinist saying there was some bearing cap walk was a good one. If a main...

A question for all the Law Enforcement members

A question for all the Law Enforcement members

First thing is, you don't get a ticket because a radar or Lidar says you were speeding, you get a ticket because the officer says you were speeding. In some courts his word is "all" that is required. Radar and Lidar are not intended for scanning traffic for speed violators. The officer is...

Switching from C-clip elims to Ford ends

When you contact one of the vendors, don't be surprised to find they have the axles and parts to be compatable with your other GM parts. Changing the bearing retention does not need to mean everything else. Do a bit of the thought process prior to calling and think about what you would like...

    snowblower opinions....lawnmower opinions?

I'll put in a second vote for the Snow Commander. We received a fairly normal amount of Minnesota snow last year and it ate it all. Normally I just keep going and do the neighors on both sides as well. It is a single stage with plenty of power. It chews right through the "hump" left by the...

    GSP PIT Kills 2...thoughts?

When are we going to start just saying people must obey the law? People died. There is't a person involved who doesn't understand and regret it. But it was the driver who was responsible for the entire event. They should show this in every driver's ed class.
