    Dyno results...

Previous owner chimes in There is no CC on the car. Personally, I would start with changing the air cleaner. I know it has to be dirty by now. Yes, seriously. You should also get new air breathers for the valve covers or at least clean them well. Small things, I know, but really, that motor...

    87 t/type

If it only had T-tops... The car I'm looking for is specifically a 1987 Turbo T with T-tops. Sucks now because I have cash to spend...

1987 T-top GN 7000 mile car for sale all stock

The fender braces under the hood are not stock. The seat belt retainer on the seat (drivers side at least) is not stock. What else is not stock? It's a really nice car nonetheless. I'm located in Germantown, WI (20 minutes from you). I'd be happy to look over the car for anyone here who is...

    popping noise @ WOT

Check the Turbo breather inlet port I had the EXACT same thing happen to my 1987 GN and found that the definitive root cause of the problem was that the breather port on the backside of the turbo which normally connects via an "S" shaped hose to the front of the passenger side valve cover was...

The gal in the pictures is the ex girlfriend of my COUSIN, (who was also there at the time) not me. My wife took pictures with the car also, but I'm not posting those.

    Trunklid emblem ?

That makes total sense and also reflects my memory. Thanks for clearing this up for me and for those reading these posts. Best, Eric McCann

    Trunklid emblem ?

Is it possible that we're getting confused about what is a Turbo "T" and a Regal Limited Turbo? I think I remember that the Regal Limited Turbo models came without a rear spoiler, but did have the square badge around the decklid keylock area. The hardish-to-find Turbo "T" cars did not come...

    IAC issue?

That would be my first guess (IAC). I'm not sure how you would test it since it seems like an intermittent, non-repeatable issue. A VAC leak may also cause surging, but it would be more consistent. Have you tried to pull any codes from the ECM? The paperclip trick (jumper pin A to pin B, then...

    Trunklid emblem ?

Quick and short, I do believe that the Turbo T 'Limited' models had the trunk badge you speak of on the decklid. I've seen a few of them at least. The straight Turbo "T" cars did not have the trunk enblem emblem you speak of. The Limited's had them, I believe.

Can a 87 GN be a daily driver

Oh yea, these cars especially in stock form are great daily drivers. It's a BUICK! They are made to be driven comfortably, reliably, and in this case FAST as fast can be!!! I agree with the sentiments above about keeping it in a safe place, no matter where you live or work. These cars beg...

1987 Grand National Sighting in CA

On vacation in Seal Beach, CA this past week I saw a 1987 Grand National zipping through traffic at about 12:30 p.m. or so Thursday 9/4/08 on the 405 South between LAX and Seal Beach Blvd. Non-stock wheels, super nice car! I tried to catch up, but the Mustang convertible I rented couldn't keep...

FS: 1987 Grand National - T-tops - heavily optioned car on craigslist (my car)

Chances are that I will buy another one someday when it makes sense. They are in my blood again and the feeling of the turbo throwing me into the back of the seat is something that I cannot ever forget. We'll see. It'll be a long while before I get another one. I need to rid myself of a lot...
