    Tranny HP losses -- FWIW

Dyno the tranny? Chris, Alan, anyone I always understood it to be like this: say you had a turbo engine that you engine dynoed at 245 net crank HP with accessories. Then say you dropped it in a GN with a 2004R and it lost 44.1 HP or 18% for a 200.9 WHP at peak in 3rd gear on the chassy...

    Tranny HP losses -- FWIW

I believe it is more accurate to use a percentage. Is'nt the same tranny is going to lose more power behind a 500HP motor as oppossed to a 200HP motor?

Can I run low 12's with this combo???

I think somebody sells a system where you can switch to race fuel on the fly so to speak. Like you have a max effort chip with settings for 91 octane and another for race fuel. So when you want to you switch the ME to the race fuel setting and have some type of switch to change where the fuel...

    TE-60 or 44?

Sounds like fun Bobby, its a deal! But you know even if they are both assembled and tuned in the Buick Bat Cave, I would'nt bet against you at the track. :)

    TE-60 or 44?

Oh yea and a 208/208 cam. Thanks guys looks like the concensus is that the 60 with this combo will work just as well as the 44 on the street. I was concerned the 60 would lag alot or have to be turning some rpms to work right. Street is my concern much more than track times so I just did not...

    TE-60 or 44?

BuickV6 Sorry guys life got to buzy for awhile and I lost track of this thread, now its time to buy and I am still thinking. :) Yes I probably will move to Alky (SMC) in the future and the convertor is a quality made 12" from Dan's Convertors in I think IL. I bought it last summer. As I...

    '87 GN vs. Lightning?

Try to prepare for a worse case scenario when racing someone Stack the odds in your favor. Don't race him unless you have race gas, xylene or alky. Also some drag radials or soft compound recaps. Even after you get your fuel and tires in order I would do a test and tune at the track before...

    What G-Body had 8.5 rear-end?

Hmmmm In 88 Olds made something I believe it was called a GT. My understanding is that they made something just shy of 500 of these. What I was told some time ago was that since Olds did not originally intend on making an 88 modle year they did not contract with Hurst to make more 442s. The...

    TE-60 or 44?

3000 stall, MSD 50lb injectors, V4, 62mmTB. Which turbo will be fastest on 94 octane? Is their much difference on the street?

stock gn vs civic with nos?

Most Xylene that you can get in a store is 117 octane. Also you must use some type of lubricant with it such as Marvels Mystry Oil. Gasoline has lubricants added Xylene has none. I have found here locally where the MAB paint stores run a special on it in June. 19.95 for a 5 gallon can! The...

Which is a better core for a buildup?

I have access to a 2004R from an 84 T-type that has been sitting for 4 years. I also have a 2004R that is working perfectly in a stock 307 powered 95,000 mile 88 Olds Cutlass. Secondly I am not sure to what level I will need to have it built up to survive behind a 509ci Cadillac motor that...
