    Minimum Idle Speed

My '84 GN had the common popping, spitting, etc. that is common to this forum. Finally, I got some sense, went back to basics, and set my Minimum Idle Speed (right from the Chassis Manual--p. 6E3-183). After setting the MIS, you must reset the TPS. (My TPS was set at .42 BEFORE this...

    FYI-Minimum Idle Speed

Car was running really bad--missing, etc. Went to Chassis manual, and set minimum idle speed. Voila!!!! (After doing this, you must re-set TPS. After I set minimum idle speed, I found out that the TPS was at .54 volts, way above the idle reading. Thought that I might share this with you.

    Seat Repair

Seat Material There is an outfit in Oregon, Portland, I believe that has our material. I purchases 2 yards of the stuff. It is perfect--original solid stuff. Any good shop can turn you on to these guys. I'll look for the receipt in a couple of days. These guys specialize in hard to find...

    CPS bad...can i get one?

CPS Before you replace it, be sure that it is in correctly and adjusted. I had installed mine, and placed the vanes between the metal plates--it looks as though it should go there--but it doesn't. The vanes rotate through the plastic part of the sensor--with a .030 gap.

    #4 and #6 miss

Yea--this is driving me nuts! BTW I put in new pushrods, but I did not check the cam/lifters for flatness. Does anyone think that the waste spark could be the problem? I've checked the plugs, and put in new wires. Since one and four fire together, perhaps the ignition module is bad--of...

    #4 and #6 miss

I had the car on a scope last month and #4 and #6 cylinders we not firing well. Looked like the top of the wave was clipped on the scope. Anyway, I did a valve job, replaced timing chain, and put new valve springs in. Also, I had the injectors checked, and put in a new injector harness. New...
