Don't feel bad on the delay in getting it installed. I picked up my trans from Lonnie in January and finally got it installed and test driven in late September. Curious what you're using for lockup converter control, if you have a l/u converter?

I will be doing the Long Haul for the first time this year. Been doing a leg or two of the tour since 2001 but decided it was finally time to do the whole thing. Took my black 88 Monte SS in '08 (and ran with a few TR's for awhile) but this year we're taking a 99 Z28.

Find a flexplate that will work with the torque convertor. Monte SS's from 86-88 had one piece rear main engines with the 2004R transmission, so they will fit with the right parts. Good luck.

I've had too many problems getting a 2004R built correctly in my area. Currently have a 2004R in my MCSS for cruising/long trips, etc. and a TH350 in my Malibu which is more of a toy. The 350 gets runs pretty hard and keeps coming back for more. I only wish I could get a 2004R to shift like...

I believe Ted is refering the the TH200 metric three speed trans. not the 200-4R. Joemama is refering to the MCSS 200-4R.
