My wife got me a turbo buick for a early Christmas present. We went to together Thanksgiving day to get the car. Then we drove the car to duke's to get my transmission rebuilt and get it tuned and mods done. I gave him $2500 to get started. He never did touch my car. It sat outside the whole time getting hailed on and scratched. Even bought a car cover for him to put over the car. I ask him three different times to put the cover on. He never opened the box. Ask to get my money back and he said he didn't have it. Funny! no work was done to the car. But yet he doesn't have my money. Went by his shop again and he parked his truck inside the gate and chained it. Once he saw me, he hid behind his truck. He will not talk to me or return my calls. Can someone help me or know a lawyer that you would recommend. I was so happy to get my turbo buick, but now it suck.

More to the story. He said he ordered me a ptc converter. But no one there or dusty hasn't heard from him in a year... Then he said I could not take the car because he took the tranny out.. Went back and looked under the car and the transmission was in the car... I finally had enough. I just got out of jaw surgery and my wife and I, had to go get my car. I had blood running down my mouth and he didn't want me to see or get the car. After 1 1/2 hours we got it. But no money. He gave me a $1000 hot check!

First of all make a Police report if you have not already, document everything you do this will help in court. I don't really know any lawyers but call 1- 800 lawyers and give them your story and go from there. You will need that Police report first and foremost though.

Try to get action on the bogus check. If he issued the check, knowing it was rubber, issued it on a closed acct, etc, that's a felony.

Sorry to hear about your situation! In the 6 years or so I've lived in DFW these are pretty much the only stories I hear about that place. If you are in Fort Worth I know it sucks having to drive clear across the metroplex to get to Jack Laswell, but it's well worth the trip. The two shops couldn't be more opposite. Jack's place is immaculate.
