All, I have had my A/C fail twice in the last 10 years on my car. Also after converting over two R134 in 07 the car has always had issues cooling. Everything in the system is new except for the lines and condenser.
What I need help with is locating the CORRECT or better than the original condenser. Where and which one do I need and how can I find it????
I pulled the motor and trans out to detail the engine compartment for a couple reasons.
First, my powerdisaster failed on me last year so I am covering to HB.
Secondly, my steering box is worn out so I am putting in a new box and the Jeep steering shaft.
I really need to know where to find the correct AC condenser because I have ordered a few from Advance and O'Reilly and they don't seem to be the right ones for our cars.

PLEASE help!

Contact Leslie or Glen at Highway Stars : NOS4GN.COM

A couple months ago I got an exact replacement condenser for an '87 GN which was under $100 from my local "real" auto parts store. :)

Nick, I "need" that contact info. Also while your at it I need one of my 291 blocks stroked!

Nick, I believe that is the same one I have bought in the past. The original condenser is angled at the top and bottom where it sits on the rubber pads and has stepped tubes. The Spectra is flat at the mounting areas and the tubes are stacked next to each other.

All I can tell you is ours easily went into a 1987 GN, and it is working great!

Like I said before, it's on sale for $179 from NOS4GN.COM and you can have a NOS AC Delco Unit.
By the way, it is black on the front side (hidden in photo).
I know cause I just bought one from them last month.

I bought the cheaper of the two that are on rockauto and it works and fits just fine. The angling doesn't matter as the mount makes up for it.

Skuzza me...
With conversion to R134, what condenser works best? For originality an OEM replacement would be nice, but are newer style condensers engineered for and work best with cars converted to R134? My AC guy told me I should get a new condenser, but are exact-replacement (older style) or newer ones best for R134? If there is a difference between the two, how does one ensure they are ordering the newer style?
Thanks.
