No, I did get it completely finished and have painted some other stuff but not any Buicks yet. People must be holding on to there money. Maybe after taxes something may pan out..if not that ok i have a ton of other work to do. I will post one if i get one in the shop.:)

If you weren't so far away I'd take you up on this completely.
Awesome deal. Best of luck

Thanks Bill,
I'm thinking of repainting mine after i finish up another job. The paint job is 18 years old now and could use a new one, It still looks pretty dame good but not show quality enough for me. I'm sure someone will need something soon in my area.:)

Why do you guys paint solid colors in base/clear not single stage?
Because if you have every polished a single stage paint job you would understand completly. Base clear is the only way to go because it has UV protectant in the clears and is much more forgiving to the harsh environment we put them through, also it wet sands and buffs way better and hold it shine better. Single stage is old school but will still works if that what you have to only work with. It's cheaper also but i wouldn't recomend using it for our cars because there mostly black and they show every scratch.;) Sorry it took so long to respond i wasn't getting my alerts when someone posted.

A side car i just painted. Just wanted to put up some pictures. It's Las Vegas Gold effect. It's on MGM Grands GIV aircraft. It's a true pearl $1700.00 per gal. Then bottom is Black Velvet Metallic Here is some before and after pictures.

do i see orange peel or is it the light
Looks like he has some buffing to do for sure. I've seen lots of paint jobs that are done at home that look like that, and boy you have to work your butt off in order to make it look good. Best of luck with that.Give it another 40 hours of wet sanding and polishing and it should look pretty good. I had two spots that needed buffed on the cart. Slicker then "whale ****" i call it!;)

Not trying to get your panties in a wade! Just saying my friend. I've done alot of cars and it's not on common to have in or around 40 hours to do a show finish quality job from top to bottom, I'm sure you can do it faster, I've had good luck using a palm sander with 1500 grit and that makes it go a ton faster. I wish you the best of luck. Track your time and i bet you will have alot more then then think. Happy sanding!:)
And for your info on the $4000.00 dollar job, that's not a run of the mill paint job! And i can assure you that it's a deal at that price. Sure anyone can do a Macco job but that's not my style.

Everything is cool with me. I think it's great to see another paint job. I think it looks good, i wasn't trying to say anything bad about your paint work. Put some pictures of it up in here when you get it buffed out. I do this for a living painting Airplanes and i owned a body shop awhile back, so now i just do it on the side for something to do. My time is worth what it is. I'm sure you have a price also. Good luck, I'm sure it will look sweet when you are complete.

if u get a chance check out one of my other threads 67 gto and 59 chevy belair 4dr to 2dr conversion some cool stuff ... theres a link there that will take you there or search projects and i think its around page 3or4

Hey there. First off.. Great looking cart!!! I too wish I can see a TR shot by you. You sound like you know your art very well... I'd consider shipping my car over to you after it gets out the shop with the motor work.

Question.. I've heard on this org. lacquer paintjob thats all cracked up on my car, if a body shop tells you it doesnt need a complete strip & paint they dont know their business. True or False?

... indeed

24 years in a shop? ummm, sorry to be the "mean" guy here, but if it looks like that in the pics, I can only imagaine...what do you expect people to say...

Probably should have posted the after pics, not the before...and probably in your own thread, just sayin. You have alot of work ahead of you. Most of which could have been prevented. ;)
